Senior Medical Scientist

We have a vacancy for a Senior Medical Scientist to join our laboratory team. The postholder will lead service delivery and the development of our accredited Blood Transfusion laboratory in order to meet the needs and requirements of our users and patients.

Candidate Requirements
 

• CORU-registered (or evidence of application in progress) Medical Scientist and eligible for Fellowship of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine
• At least four years’ experience in blood transfusion since qualification
• At least two years’ experience as a Senior MS in blood transfusion (desirable)
• Advanced technical and theoretical knowledge of laboratory blood transfusion
• Experience of service development and ISO15189 accreditation
• Demonstrable effective interaction with colleagues
• Flexible, collaborative and committed to achievement of team and organisational objectives
• Patient-focussed and influential with excellent communication skills
• Knowledge and experience of risk management
• Experience of JCI hospital accreditation (desirable)
