Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced and motivated Equipment Project Procurement Lead to oversee and guide our Equipment Project Procurement Team. This role is integral to managing the procurement activities of a team consisting of buyers, expeditors, subcontract administrators, and other supporting procurement functions. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, technical expertise, and personal integrity to foster collaboration across teams and ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and motivate the Equipment Project Procurement Team, ensuring smooth operations and stakeholder engagement through technical and personal credibility.
- Act as the overall Project Procurement Lead, managing activities of a team that includes buyers, expeditors, subcontract administrators, and other procurement professionals.
- Assign package priorities, remove obstacles, and provide on-the-job training, support, and guidance to team members.
- Coordinate with Client procurement representatives and Project Managers, maintaining positive relationships and clear communication.
- Manage the procurement process, including planning, bidder list development, bidder qualification, request for quotation preparation, and bid evaluations.
- Ensure the dissemination and implementation of Operating Procedures for procurement activities across the team.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Controls Team to support capital cost reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Provide input and expertise to support capital estimating of projects.
- Ensure the procurement of materials and equipment meets quality, cost, and delivery requirements in line with project schedules and objectives.
- Oversee and ensure the competence and performance of supervised personnel in line with applicable procedures, schedules, and budget constraints.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement Management, Business, or a related field.
- Membership in a recognized procurement or supply chain professional body (e.g., IIPMM) is an advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Procurement Management or as a Lead Buyer in a design office and/or construction site environment.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as an Engineering Buyer in a related industrial sector.
- Extensive knowledge of the Equipment Supply Chain and experience building strong vendor relationships.
- Strong technical background in relevant industrial sectors is highly desirable.
