Senior Risk Specialist

A forward-thinking insurance entity in the midst of an exciting project is searching for a Senior Risk Specialist to join its Risk Function. The Senior Risk Specialist will focus mainly on the area of Financial Risks, and will be heavily involved in producing the company’s ORSA.

About the Senior Risk Specialist role

This role offers a great opportunity to move into a more senior level within risk, with the successful candidate working in key ERM areas that will influence the company’s decision-making processes.

Duties for the Senior Risk Specialist will include (but not be limited to):

• Qualitative and quantitative duties, contributing to the company’s ORSA
• Working alongside an internal model, particularly within both market and credit risk
• Continuously evaluate the effect that climate change may have on the firm
• Find areas the company may be lagging behind in compliance with emerging regulations

Actuarial skills required

The role would suit a risk actuary with ORSA experience, however, consideration will be made for those of a non-actuarial background. Candidates must have a risk background and ideally have experience of the following:

• 3-5 years’ experience within the risk function of an insurance entity
• Experience with ORSA is a distinct advantage
• Risk qualifications, e.g., FRM, CERA.
• The ability to work and communicate on an interdisciplinary basis
• Data analysis and numerical skills
