Senior Sales Engineer

 

Description:

We are working exclusively with our client a subsea and terrestrial fibre infrastructure provider on the appointment of a senior sales engineer. Reporting to the VP Product the senior sales engineer forms an integral part of the Product Team. This team is responsible for welding the needs of the market and the capabilities of the network together to optimize the goals of the business. This role will work in a hybrid model collaborating with sales account management, Legal, Networks and Finance to build, define and map customer facing solutions and innovative thinking to win & close deals.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support the Product, Operations, Engineering and Maintenance of the organisation’s global network infrastructure in the development of customer solutions (technical and commercial).
  • Ability to articulate innovative solutions, with both potential customers and key stakeholders within Aqua Comms, also to demonstrate / build the end to end solution.
  • Understanding of optical networks, design including subsea and protection architectures working across multi supplier technologies. Understanding key terminology.
  • Ability to build commercial solutions with Finance team, with an awareness of industry pricing and benchmarking when it comes to building a pricing proposal.
  • Support any customer key meetings individually and/or part of a team to present solutions, build ideas, develop relationships and help find solutions.
  • Systemic approach to build appropriate documentation related to product offerings and working with Engineering to define.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Degree level qualifications in Engineering, Electronics or IT
  • Telecommunications knowledge a distinct advantage
  • Previous experience of working with Ciena, IP, Optical Transmission, Fiber Optic, and Subsea engineering Wavelengths (OTN and 100GE), Spectrum, Dark Fiber, and Colocation solution design
  • Application and data architecture, including cloud, edge, private, and public networking
  • Design of clear visual diagrams, KMZ’s, and routing information as needed
  • Good working knowledge of other providers in relevant markets
  • Proven track record to drive the sale from discovery to close by identifying and building customer-specific value
