We currently have an opportunity for the role of Senior Solution Architect on a contract of indefinite duration, in the IT Strategy Planning & Architecture Division . The purpose of the role is to be responsible for designing system solutions to meet the requirements of the business and align with IT strategy and architecture. As a Senior Solution Architect you will frequently work on more complex and high profile projects, liaise closely with Enterprise Architects to help develop enterprise solutions, quality assure other Solution Architects’ designs, provide advice and guidance to less experienced colleagues and continually look for ways to improve ways of working.
- Provide relevant skills transfer, coaching and mentoring to team members to share expertise and ensure that the necessary skills, competencies and knowledge are being developed and leveraged across the team, as appropriate.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the specific business areas you are aligned with and have an understanding of organisational inter-dependencies to take an enterprise view when designing business solutions.
- As Senior Solution Architect, work during projects to shape solution options, providing appropriate challenge to stakeholders and influencing strategic direction to ensure that the solutions designed are architecturally aligned, bring value to the organisation and meet business needs.
- Develop solution designs and supporting technical design documentation in compliance with architectural strategies (vision and roadmap) and principles, carrying out due diligence in identifying the solution and adhering to agreed policies and standards in the areas of security, infrastructure, services, delivery and quality assurance in order to ensure business solutions bring real value to the organisation.
- In solution procurements, support the preparation of functional requirements, and lead the preparation and evaluation of IT requirements to ensure quality of same. Carry out market research to ensure the right solutions are procured and work with the Procurement stakeholders to ensure successful tender outcomes for the organisation.
- As required, supervise, mentor and coach Solution Architects and their outputs to ensure that they understand business requirements and provide appropriate solution options to meet same, with access to and utilisation of best practice tools, frameworks and methodologies, in order to deliver the best solutions to meet business need. As required, review Solution Architects work to ensure a focus on consistent and high quality outputs ensuring the processes exist to promote the delivery of good business solutions aligned with IT architecture.
- Maintain relationships with Enterprise Architecture, Business Analysis and IT Delivery in order to influence decisions made in respect of approaches to and scoping of projects and to influence architectural direction in respect of roadmaps.
- Support the Solution Architecture Manager in embedding a culture of continuous improvement in the Solution Architecture team by looking for and driving improvements to ‘ways of working’, processes, tools and techniques.
- Keep up to date with developments and trends in the market place and keep informed about solution approaches that similar / peer organisations are taking to ensure that you are well informed to make recommendations in respect of business solution options and architectural strategy. Champion the promotion of knowledge sharing in the team so that colleagues are empowered and can contribute to well informed recommendations.

- Analysis and Design – Object Oriented analysis and design.
- Enterprise Architecture – IASA & TOGAF Foundational.
- Significant experience of design and systems architecture.
- Significant experience of providing technical solutions to business problems.
- Systems Design –Data – Data Warehousing, Data Management, Statistical Analysis Foundation.
- Significant experience of analysis, design and /or development across a selection of technologies e.g. XML, XBRL, Oracle, .Net, SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and SharePoint.
- Stakeholder Focus & Negotiation skills.
- Ability to produce concise, accurate solution designs to meet business requirements.
- Awareness of the latest technology trends and how these could benefit the Central Bank.
- Good presentation skills including confidence working at all business levels.
- Good verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to deliver under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Self-starter with the ability to show initiative and work without supervision.
- Experience of people / team management.
