Irish Life is recruiting a Software Developer to work within the IT Applications Delivery area of the Health business which provides IT Strategy, Architecture, Delivery and Support services for the business. The IT function is in an early phase of development giving the right candidate the opportunity to develop in their career and to support and shape how we operate as a function

The role of the Software Developer is to work within the business solutions team reporting to the Senior Manager to design, build and support the test and deployment of solutions including:

• Design, build, test and deploy solutions for new and existing business systems
• Develop integrations between systems on premise and cloud
• Engage with the business on new innovative solutions e.g. Robotics, AI
• Participating in and where necessary lead the reviews of designs and code
• Continuously improving the software development environment, embracing latest technologies and practices
• Provide enhancements, maintenance and support for all software delivered
• Own the software quality and development standards and procedures and ensure delivery to same
• Work with Analysts and Project Managers to plan/deliver strategies and solutions
• Contributing to the planning activities involved in estimating project delivery, including impact analysis, scoping of new projects and estimating project development tasks
• Support the use of agile methodology where applicable
