Software Functional Safety Lead

European Recruitment are working closely with a multinational tech company, based in Cork, who are looking for a talented Software Functional Safety Lead to join their team.

In this role, you will be pivotal in ensuring that their flagship compiler project adheres to the rigorous functional safety standards of the automotive sector. Collaborating closely with the development team, you will oversee compliance with ISO 26262 standards and meticulously craft and maintain the safety case for their project.

Responsibilities as Software Functional Safety Lead:

• Guarantee compliance of the software development process with ISO 26262 standards.
• Collaborate with the development team to ensure software design and implementation align with safety requirements.
• Develop and uphold the safety case for the project.
• Conduct thorough safety analyses and risk assessments.
• Formulate and update the functional safety plan.
• Ensure comprehensive testing and verification to meet safety standards.
• Offer expert guidance and support on functional safety matters to the development team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 5 years of proven experience in ensuring functional safety compliance.
• Demonstrated proficiency with ISO 26262 standards.
• Background in software development specifically within the automotive sector.
• Thorough understanding of software development methodologies and processes.
• Familiarity with safety analysis tools, including Parasoft.
• Understanding of safety certification procedures.
