Description:
As a Solutions Architect you will be responsible to support the Solution Delivery Life Cycle by developing solution designs and providing technical guidance throughout the cycle. Your main focus will be on developing and maintaining the core application architecture of our business.
The Role:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements for hosting solutions.
- High-Level Design: Create high-level architecture and design documentation that outlines the overall solution, including components such as virtualization platforms, cloud environments, storage configurations, and compute infrastructure.
- Virtualization Design: Design and implement virtualized environments using tools like VMware, Hyper-V, or other leading virtualization platforms. Ensure optimal allocation of resources and performance considerations.
- Cloud Integration: Evaluate, design, and implement suitable cloud architectures using providers like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or private clouds. Ensure scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Storage Solutions: Design storage architectures, integrating SAN, NAS, and other storage platforms. Ensure data redundancy, performance, and backup strategies.
- Compute Design: Evaluate and design compute configurations to ensure performance and scalability. This includes selecting appropriate server types, configurations, and resource distribution.
- Security: Incorporate security best practices into all designs. This includes network security, access controls, and data protection methods.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and analyse the performance of hosted environments. Recommend and design optimizations as required.
- Documentation: Maintain and update documentation to reflect changes, upgrades, and modifications. Ensure documentation is clear, concise, and easily understandable by both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with developers, IT teams, and business units to ensure the designed solutions meet the desired outcomes.
Have you:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years in designing and implementing hosting solutions.
- Proven experience in virtualization, cloud, storage, and compute technologies
-
- Certifications: ( not essential but preferred) Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert). Virtualization certifications (e.g., VMware VCP-DCV). Storage and compute technology certifications.
- Strong understanding of network principles and architectures.
- Knowledge of security best practices and integrations
- Ability to create clear and effective documentation.
