Description:
The Children’s Disability Network Team provides a Family Centred, Interdisciplinary Team Service to children with complex disability needs aged 0 to 18yrs in their local community. The successful candidate will work with two Senior Psychologists as part of the interdisciplinary team providing a team based service to CDNT children and young people and their families.
Essential criteria
- A recognised University degree or Diploma (QQ1 level8 Equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2nd class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject.
- A recognised post graduate professional qualification in clinical, counselling or educational psychology or an equivalent validated by the Department of Health. We would welcome applications from 2023 Doctoral Graduates.
- Applicants who qualified outside of Republic of Ireland must already have their qualifications validated by the department of Health and Children and the Psychological Society of Ireland.
- Have excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork and effective caseload management skills. In addition they must possess good planning, organisation and effective time management skills together with the ability to work in a team and on their own initiative
Desirable
- Experience in assessment and delivery of clinical interventions for children presenting with complex disability needs, physical and/or sensory and /or Intellectual disability and /or Autism.
- Work experience or a training placement in a disability service with children with disabilities.
- Supporting children and young people with Life Limiting conditions.
- Supporting children and families/carers in management of behaviours that challenge.
- Experience in Family Centred approaches in goal setting.
- Full clean driving licence and have the use of a car.
