Our client, an award-winning dental practice, located in Carlow Town, is looking to recruit a Staff Manager to join the Management Team. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Managing Executive and will manage a team of Clinical Staff Administration and Cleaning staff by assigning responsibilities, scheduling, coaching, developing, motivating and training, ensuring the team consistently meets and exceed performance goals and requirements.

As Staff Manager, you will provide daily support to a team of employees and be responsible for the effective and successful management of labour and productivity. You will plan and manage daily the company’s human resources, oversee weekly work schedules for staff and provide staffing solutions that utilise staff in the most cost-effective manner. You will handle all daily staffing issues provide effective solutions, and work closely with Clinicians in supporting incentives for increasing productivity.
Duties
- Oversee the hiring, training, induction, and coaching of Staff.
- Monitor employee performance and provide feedback through periodic staff performance reviews.
- Manage staff disciplinary procedures for underperforming staff.
- Oversee and manage staff schedules, delegate daily tasks to the Team providing information and advice when needed.
- Provide daily leadership and support to the team, focusing on providing quick and effective solutions to daily problems that arise.
- Responsible for staff welfare, ensuring the team has what it needs promoting a conducive work environment focusing on quality and productivity.
- Keep production and morale high, taking steps to improve retention.
- Carry out monthly staff surveys to ensure the workforce is satisfied in their roles, morale is high, and steps are taken to improve retention.
- Approving annual leave, ensuring adequate cover is provided.
- Approving overtime payments and staff expenses.
- Serve as the first point of contact for all staff.
- Monitor statutory compliance of all staff re Garda Vetting, Insurance, Immunisation, Manual Handling etc.
- Communicate issues with Team and devise ways of improving Patient experience, including providing support in the resolving of complaints.
- Development of Employee Recognition model.
- Work closely with ME and/or Clinical Director to set and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementation.
Requirements:
- Experience in large-scale staff roster preparation.
- Experience in hiring, training, appraisal and disciplinary meetings and procedures.
- Relationship building with strong communication and negotiation skills.
- The ability to effectively manage communication between individuals and teams.
- The ability to resolve disputes and disagreements and make difficult decisions.
- Leadership skills with proven ability to lead and support a team.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and multi-tasking skills.
- Full Driving License.
- Excellent Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
