KNOW THE ROLE

The stockroom at Arnotts serves as the central hub for our store operations, playing a pivotal role in maintaining the store's excellence. We expertly manage the reception, storage, and distribution of merchandise, ensuring a seamless and efficient flow of goods throughout the business. Our commitment to these processes contributes to the high-quality experience our customers have come to expect from Brown Thomas Arnotts.

  • To check, price and prepare goods for distribution and ensure that any discrepancies are reported to the manager.
  • To exercise care in handling merchandise.
  • To maintain stockrooms/despatch area in an orderly, disciplined and commercial fashion and to keep neat and tidy at all times.
  • To be aware of all store promotional activities, including window displays/advertising etc.
  • To merchandise products in keeping with Brown Thomas standards.
  • To maintain department layout in a customer friendly way having regard for safety issues.
  • To honour all time commitments for the delivery of goods/post.
  • To be aware and observe all Company policies and procedures (see Company handbook)
  • To follow correct procedures for Dispatch room operation, documentation for all types of goods received, special orders and customer correspondence.
  • To order and collect House Stationery.
  • To maintain records of merchandise returned to suppliers and to answer any queries raised in this regards

 

KNOW WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • To offer the customer the highest level of customer service in keeping with Brown Thomas Arnotts standards.
  • To offer friendly approach to customers both internal and external and a courteous manner in all areas of the store and on the telephone.
  • To have a working knowledge of the store e.g. layout, facilities, merchandise and any department moves.
  • To be aware and observe all Company policies and procedures (see Company handbook).
  • To follow correct procedures for stockroom operation, documentation for all types of goods received, special orders and customer correspondence
  • To order and collect House Stationery.
  • To assist in the preparation and arrangement of stock for stocktaking purposes
  • To comply with all store security procedures.
  • To follow correct stockroom procedures and take the necessary steps to deal with discrepancies.
  • It is your responsibility to protect company assets, fixtures and fittings and to be security conscious at all times.
  • To have a working knowledge of the ‘Safety Statement”.
  • Report discreetly to Management/Security any safety hazards or suspicious behaviour.
  • To operate equipment, in accordance with formal training guidelines.
  • To ensure all equipment is maintained and in proper working order.
  • To ensure protective clothing and footwear are worn at all times while in the stockroom
  • To assist with any other duties as required by your Manager i.e. to assist in completion of House Stationery requisitions and to dispose of stockroom rubbish in accordance with waste management plan.
  • To establish and maintain a good working relationship with your colleagues.
  • You may also be requested to carry out general stockroom duties as required by the Stockroom Manager/Store Management
