Position Overview
CRH is looking for a Strategic Intelligence Analyst! The role is situated within the Strategic Intelligence team whose objective is to develop a capability to systematically explore and understand future trends that will impact the construction industry and to identify opportunities for CRH to create value therein. The team will leverage internal and external news, information, data, and project work to perform deep dives into areas of interest and create new plausible future scenarios for CRH. The teams’ aspiration is to support fact-based discussions to improve the decision-making process, with a clear focus on understanding threats and potential opportunities for CRH and the construction industry. The Strategic Intelligence team sits within the Strategy function. It is a high performing, fast paced enjoyable environment that places a strong focus on professional development.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Monitor stock market, industry financial performance and company valuations
- Monitor macroeconomic, technological, and social news and trends
- Develop internal white papers and presentations at regular intervals to keep leadership abreast of unique key external trends and opportunities, and support debate
- Conduct analyses of trends, industry data, regulatory environment and competitors
- Identify and understand implications of construction trends and competitive dynamics to articulate potential scenarios
- Quantitatively assess the implications of findings, including financial analysis where relevant
- Continually refresh perspectives on external trends and changes to the construction value chain
- Help drive and manage internal strategic projects
- Develop automated ways to gather and filter news and data and prepare periodic updates and reports on key findings to the Group Leadership team

Your Education and Experience
You are/have:
- Third level degree, post graduate qualification or equivalent in Business, Finance, Engineering, Science or Economics
- 3-5 years’ experience working in a similar role
- Consulting, business analyst, equity analyst experience, CFAs an advantage
- Good systems capabilities and/or interest in technology
- Very high proficiency in using Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
- Proficiency in data analytics tools such as Tableau, PowerBI an advantage
- Experience working in other countries/cultures is a bonus
