Who should apply?
Candidate should be practice trained finance professionals with a minimum of 5 years PQE currently working as;
- Financial Reporting professionals who are strong technically and looking for a new challenge
- Senior Manager/Director working in audit with a Top 10 firm
- Senior Manager/Director working in FAAS with a Top 10 firm
- Proven track record in project management with an ability to manage multiple work streams, staff and deadlines.
- Ability to research a complex accounting issue not seen before and conclude on the correct treatment.
- Understanding of M&A accounting - conversant in the applicable IFRS standards
- Good communication skills in both providing insight into work and explaining complex issues in an easy to understand way.
- Willingness to get sleeves rolled up and directly review and work on matters.
- Good team player, who is willing to help assist and train the team overall.
Role and Reporting Lines
Reporting to the senior management, the role is very broad and will involve:
- Take on a significant leadership role in the team, including team development and mentoring.
- Drive excellence in the groups external reporting - preparation of financial statements.
- Advising the company on complex accounting matters/purchase accounting for acquisitions.
- Lead a number of finance related projects - advising the company on process improvements.
- Identify what is required to enhance the control framework.
- Respond to queries from finance team on process improvement and accounting issues on new accounting transactions.
