itContracting are seeking applicants for a Technical Operations Manager to join our client in Monaghan. Hybrid working available.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in their solar electrical power generation project development process. You will be responsible for managing a team of technicians who perform various roles, including solar PV & Thermal surveying, solar PV callouts, solar servicing, system upgrades, and quality control audits. Your role will involve overseeing and coordinating these activities to ensure the successful execution of solar energy projects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols and aligned with company values.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and designers to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Delegate tasks and schedules to technicians, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and meeting project deadlines.
- Have regular one to ones with your team to share and receive feedback.
- Provide coaching or act as a point of escalation as needed for your team.
- Monitor teams performance against agreed KPIs and develop action plans to address gaps as appropriate.
- Responsible for understanding motivation and engagement levels across the team and working with them to maintain this.
- Foster and support your teams professional growth and development
- Oversee and review survey reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness in documenting site assessments and findings.
- Collaborate with technicians to troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues or challenges encountered during project execution.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations during all surveying and service activities.
- Implement quality control procedures to maintain the highest standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
- Liaise with customers, addressing any inquiries, concerns, or issues related to surveying, servicing, or system upgrades.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to solar surveying, servicing, and quality control.
Skills & Attributes:
- Bachelor's degree in surveying, engineering, renewable energy, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in surveying and solar energy industry.
- Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team while holding them accountable.
- Familiarity with solar PV & Thermal surveying techniques, solar PV systems, and related components.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, technicians, and customers.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data collection, reporting, and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to troubleshoot technical issues and propose practical solutions.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools for surveying, quality control, and data analysis.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
