Reporting to the Toolroom Group Leader, the Toolroom Assistant works with the Toolroom team to support the cleaning, maintenance and repair of all molds.
- Previous experience in the manufacture and/or repair/maintenance of the following mold types would be a distinct advantage:
- Multi cavity molds
- Hot Runner molds
- Valve gated molds
- Stack molds
- Good understanding of the injection molding process.
- Previous experience working on technically challenging applications would be an advantage (ie) medical, tight tolerance work.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics would be an advantage.
- Must have good verbal reasoning, numerate ability and mechanical aptitude skills.
- Must have good communication skills, both written and oral.
- Must have good organisational skills.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of a computer.
- Previous production work experience would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of GMP requirements would be an advantage.
- Assist the Toolmaker in the maintenance of injection molds in the company, compiling standard specifications /procedures for each mold and monitoring all existing molds to standard specifications.
- Assists the Toolmaker in Jigs & Fixture manufacture, maintenance on the injection molding and ancillary equipment in conjunction with the machine supplier.
- Works with the Toolmaker and Production Group leaders (PGL’s) in troubleshooting mold problems.
- Solves, in conjunction with the Toolmaker and Quality department, customer related problems/issues as needed
- Compliance to all local site company policies, procedures and corporate policies.
- Instructs others, formally or informally, regarding manufacturing related skills or knowledge and assist in the training of employees on new processes or systems introduced to the company.
- Compliance to all site Environmental, Health and Safety requirements, training and regulations
- Act in accordance with the company’s guiding principles and adherence to the corporate Code of Conduct.
- Performs additional duties at the request of the direct supervisor.
