Description:
The Tourism Executive will be responsible for the promotion of tourism in Laois, working with members to stimulate tourism growth in the county:
- Working with members to develop, enhance and promote tourism in Laois.
- Promotion of member businesses and events.
- Planning, writing, and executing various email marketing campaigns, including Laois Tourism’s regular newsletters.
- Organising networking events for members of Laois Chamber Alliance.
- Attending conferences and exhibitions on behalf of Laois Chamber Alliance.
- Developing collaborations between existing businesses.
- Working with the media and other local partner organisations to raise the profile of tourism in Laois, generating positive publicity for the county.
- Utilising social media channels to promote Laois Tourism and tourism in Laois.
- Providing support and guidance on funding to new and existing tourism-related businesses.
- Working with the CEO to secure funding.
- Representing tourism on behalf of Laois Chamber Alliance on relevant boards and stakeholder groups, and liaising with the Tourism Officer in Laois County Council.
- Presenting to the Board of Laois Chamber Alliance and other stakeholders as and when required.
- Event development and management.
- Responsible for the day-to-day administration within Laois Chamber Alliance office.
The candidate will ideally have some previous experience within the tourism industry.

- Ability to liaise with members, community groups, stakeholders and the wider tourism industry
- Ability to work independently and within a team, both cohesively and efficiently
- Creativity and innovative strategic thinking along with good marketing skills
- Strong IT and experience of a range of digital and social media platforms
- Full clean driver’s licence
