Description:

We are seeking a motivated Occupational Therapist to join our multi-disciplinary team, which provides both individual and group-based rehabilitative training to adults with acquired brain injury (ABI). The “Next Stage” - Rehabilitative Training programme is a national programme that is designed to assist our trainees to maximise their potential to enable greater levels of independence and re-integration into the community. We also help trainees move on to further training, employment, education, and healthy living options.
The Training Facilitator will be required to deliver group and individual training, support and guidance to adults with acquired brain injury consistent with and in support of the aims of the Rehabilitative Training Unit and of the National Rehabilitation Hospital. The appointee will have responsibility for conducting cognitive, functional and vocational assessment that informs intervention and service delivery. They will also have ‘caseworker’ responsibilities for trainees assigned to them.

  • A third level qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration within CORU
  • Ability to design, deliver and evaluate group and individual training interventions
  • Ability to develop individualised goals in collaboration with service user and team
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and team working skills
  • High capacity for responsibility, creativity, and initiative
  • Experience delivering training to adults with acquired brain injury in a rehabilitation or training setting
  • Experience in conducting cognitive, functional and vocational assessments in a community setting
