Elusav Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Switchgear Workshop Manager role with a leading engineering contractor within the wastewater and water treatment industry in North Cork, 25 minutes from Limerick. The Switchgear Workshop Manager will oversee the companies panel building operations and lead a team of panel builders.
This role is a great opportunity as timing coincides with the launch of the company's new in-house design and build facility, and an exciting time of growth and expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver the work in a manner to meet the Employers Work Requirements, safely, and on time.
- Carry out electrical testing and record results.
- Supervise all production personnel.
- Pre-checking all switchgear in accordance with relevant Standards.
- Undertake the inhouse acceptance test of completed panels prior to external FAT.
- Lead the Factory Acceptance Test of completed panels.
- Adopt any useful feedback from FAT and SAT testing into future projects.
- Undertake any troubleshooting as required. Provide effective fault-finding support to commissioning engineers during the commissioning stage of a project.
- Ensure the complete MCC panel build is consistent with drawings provided, delivered on time and testing, certification and trouble shooting.
- Ensure all snags are completed prior to dispatch of the panel from site.
- Provide Weekly and Monthly work schedule and progress reports weekly.
- Provide ongoing mentoring and training of apprentices and graduates and juniors as required.
- Assist the panel building and automation team as required.
- Follow all necessary H&S rules and wearing of appropriate PPE, especially during any live testing of panels.
- Mentor and train electrical apprentices and graduates with practical hands on training.
- Carry out required works as part of a team.
- Assist with procurement of all consumables and accessories outside the BOM scope of E.
- Assist with new job pricing if required.
Key Requirements:
- A Minimum of 5 years’ experience in switchgear manufacturing with at least 3 years as a lead panel builder or workshop manager.
- Able to manage a team of 5-10 panel builders and apprentices initially.
- Proficient in reviewing panel schematics and reading drawings on ePlan and Autocad.
- Supervising the panel building activities to deliver according to the relevant specifications and drawings.
- Well-versed with modular enclosure and busbar systems (Logstrup or equivalent) and ABB/Scheider Switchgear.
- Troubleshooting skills in relay logic and plc wiring would be an added advantage.
- Undertake quality inspection of all Switchgear assemblies as panel build progresses.
- Experienced in mechanical and electrical assembly of of MCC and Control Panels including wiring, testing and commissioning.
- Assist electrical testing and inspection on all switchgear assemblies as per the FAT document.
- Knowledge in MS Projects or similar WBS packages for team management would be beneficial.
- Should be open to commute daily to Charleville or relocate.
- Deliver leam manufacturing.
