This is an exciting opportunity to join the programme team at the heart of defining and driving the delivery of the GRC programme strategic initiative which is an important capability on our way to achieving Net Zero by 2040. The role will involve driving out improvements of key processes within ESB.
This role is available immediately and the project is due to complete in approx. 18 months. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of change across all of ESB making a real contribution to ESB’s strategy Net Zero by 2040.
Key Responsibilities
The BPI Workstream Leads are responsible for leading on Business Process Improvement for key GRC processes, working with all business units in ESB.
The BPI Workstream Leads will:
- Lead out on working with Business Units to pilot and implement GRC initiatives within ESB Business Units (Primary Contact)
- Work closely with Business Unit Managers and Governance Managers to identify potential improvements in processes
- Co-ordinate and lead workshops within and across BUs to analyse processes, identify improvements and implement process change
- Responsible for development, design, delivery, and day-to-day management of Process Improvement plans, working with experts within ESB
- Engage with key stakeholders within the BU incl. Financial Controllers, Governance Managers, Risk managers, Compliance Managers, First-line managers and Second Line managers in each business unit who have a role in the processes
- Develop own expertise with regard to GRC roles and processes.
- Responsible for managing the consultancy resource to assist with the work e.g. policy documentation and process mapping where needed as well as Subject Matter Expertise
- Capture workshop outputs and develop Next Steps plan
- Drafting up process documentation where required, revising as required and steering through to approval
- Designing and running pilots on aspects of process improvement, identifying success factors and reporting on outcomes
- Supporting the implementation of a GRC IT system (subject to procurement).
- Working within a Strategic Initiative programme on a mission to ensure ESB’s internal control processes are secure and robust, giving ESB the capability to deliver on the Net Zero challenge while safeguarding company performance.
Essential Qualifications And Skills
- Minimum of 5 - 7 years’ experience in leading change in a Process Improvement or Governance / Risk / Compliance role
- Recognised third level qualification or equivalent work experience is essential
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Excellent workshop facilitation
- Will be process and delivery-focused
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
- Excellent analytical skills
